It lies fifty-four km
to the southeast of Mataram known as Puteri Nyale Beach. It
is now developed as a new resort along the southern coast
of the island. The tourist infrastructure is modest but that
will all change in time. For the moment; however, Kuta is
a quiets and peaceful coastal scenery. Tanjung A'an, a champing
cape with stretch of pearly white sandy beach just 4 km to
the east of Kuta Beach. A light climb to the top of a small
hill scattered around this area will give you a magnificent
view of the area.

These two villages,
Sade and Rambitan are situated approximately 19 km to the
south of Praya, the capital of Central lombok regency. These
villages are famous for their Sasak traditional houses that
show classic architecture design. These villages are located
on the hills surrounded by rice fields, which enrich the specific
impression for every visitor.

Gerupuk village is situated on the edge
of a long bay, 9 km east of Kuta. The villager main income,
along with fishing, is seaweed cultivation; the evidence of
this is abundant in the form of neat bundles. Drying along
the roadside on the semi submerged bamboo frames upon which
the seaweed is calmly growing in the waters off the beach.
Besides this, Gerupuk is home to south lombok most popular
surfers.

It is 12 km west of
Kuta. Its south coast is the beautiful Bay of Selong Blanak,
bordered by two rocky promontories. It is settlements of fishermen
and their multi-coloured outrigger canoes. It has a scene
of tranquil calm. Nearby is a surf beach called Mawi, which
is mainly visited by surfboard riders intent on catching exceptionally
fast waves. Because of the step take off and the fact that
the waves are ridden over very shallow coral it is recommended
that the only the very experienced venture out into the water.

Seven km to the east
of Praya the capital of Central lombok regency, which is famous
as the centre of bamboo and rotten handicraft products, such
as baskets, bags, and any other kinds of souvenirs. Local
people of this village also produce woodcarvings in lombok
style.

This early 17th century
temple is the largest in lombok, and was built by Prince Anak
Agung, considered more for political reasons than religious
ones, in a sense of uniting the various Hindu groups on the
island. Those groups are symbolized with small offering shrines
inside the innermost part of the temple complex with three
tall roofed shrines symbolizing the 'Trinity lords' of Hindu
belief. They also represent three mountains of Mount Bromo
in Java, Mount Rinjani in lombok and Mount Agung in Bali.
The huge entry gate's relief depicts the tale of Rama and
Shinta.

It is one of many pottery
villages, where clay pots are functioned for daily use only.
